Again in the red: global tablet market continues to shrink
Global tablet PC market showed decline in both the last quarter and by the end of 2019 as a whole. This is indicated by data published by International Data Corporation (IDC).
For the three-month period shipments of tablets totaled 43.5 million units. This was 0.6 % less than in 2018, when shipments amounted to 43.7 million units. Accounted for sales as regular tablets and gadgets with an attachable keyboard.
More than a third of the market is 36.5 % in the last quarter took Apple, the company sold 15.9 million different iPad models. The demand for these gadgets at an annual rate climbed to 22.7 percent.
On the second place with 7.0 million shipped devices and a share of 16.1 % is Samsung. However, demand for tablets this company for the year decreased by 7.4 %.
Closes the three Huawei 4.0 million tablets sold and 9.1 % of the market. The company’s sales fell at an annual rate of 2.8 %.
In 2019 the world was set 144,1 million tablet computers. Falling towards 2018, the number amounted to 1.5 %. The three leaders include Apple, Samsung and Huawei with shares respectively of 34.6 %, 15.1% and 9.8 per cent.
