Android 11 will receive a long-awaited opportunity
Smartphones that run the Android operating system, can not record video larger than 4 GB. According to the source, this should change next year with the release of Android 11.
This limitation becomes, for many content creators all the more annoying because now on the market there are many smartphones that allow you to record videos with 4K resolution. We would not be surprised if in near future there will be smartphones with support for video recording in the resolution of 8K. These videos take a lot of space.
Now, if the file exceeds 4GB, the camera continues to record video, but saves it in another file. In total in the gallery may be a few files that, by design, was supposed to be part of a movie. It is not very convenient.
Participants XDA Developers have dug into the Android source code, the confirmation that Google will allow user to create video files larger than 4 GB in the next numbered version of Android. If the company will stick to the same time frame, the first beta version should appear sometime in March 2020.
