Apple is accused of violating licensing rights for musical compositions
Apple, of course, in many ways can be called great. In fact, Apple has changed our world, releasing the first iPhone. It’s only been a decade, but how much has changed all around.
But, if we talk about honesty, then this Apple has always had problems. At least, judging by various claims and leaks. The company is constantly accused of tax evasion, the company was implicated in a number of intentional action, forcing people to buy new Apple products, and so on.
Now here came the young music service Apple Music. According to sources, the musician Brian Eich (Eich Bryan) has filed a lawsuit against Apple, accusing the company of wrongdoing regarding his musical compositions. The musician has the rights to two albums, includes 18 tracks.
According to the statement of lamentations, Apple never sent him the notification on granting licenses, though with the appearance of his materials in the Apple Music it’s been more than a month. In addition, the plaintiff claims that Apple has also removed information about the number of listens and downloads of his songs to avoid paying royalties.
However, it is possible, in fact no malice in the actions of Apple was not. Lawyers for the company said of the Lamentations that the problem lay in the synchronization of the base of Beats Music and Apple Music, and it is already solved. The point is that in 2012 the company CD Baby, which also owned the publishing rights for musical compositions, the lamentations, has provided service Beats Music for review almost all their records. Then the music service had to accommodate what you want. However, Eich was not aware of this procedure. Quite possibly, in the future, when transfer the music directory in the Apple Music service, recording of lamentations, which in fact was not «approved» by the owner, was published without his consent. Anyway, the source reports that on the day of submission of the claim albums lamentations did not appear in Apple Music.
