Apple knew about the #bendgate even before the release of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus
In an American court held hearings on the case of Thomas Davidson and others vs. Apple. A group of buyers iPhone 6 and 6 Plus trying to get the American Corporation compensation for the problems with touch screens of their smartphones, known as touch disease.
It is assumed that the cause of these problems is another disadvantage of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, the so – called #bendgate, or the tendency to excessive flexing in the upper part of the body. During the proceedings the court received a lot of internal Apple documents, which were partially published by the judge. It follows from them that the company discovered #bendgate is still in the testing phase of the smartphone.
Published court document reads: «furthermore, internal testing by Apple «determined that the iPhone 6 bends with a probability of 3.3 times larger than the iPhone 5S (the model that came out immediately before discussing iPhone), iPhone 6 Plus bend with a probability of 7.2 times larger than the iPhone 5S». To emphasize this, one of the main problems identified before launching the Apple iPhone, was that they «tend to bend much easier compared to previous generations»». Note that for a long time Apple denied #bendgate.
