As Tech Hub Today staged a festival of young science
First in 2017, the meeting of fans of the Ukrainian science at the meeting Today Tech Hub was not the same as usual. It was not solid candidates and doctors of Sciences, who gravely presented the promising fruits of his many years of scientific work. The recent meeting was more like a festival or fair, which was returning to childhood. Remember how you yourself made of different parts on hand figures of robots, cars, airplanes and the like. Shown in the Tech Hub Today the projects were the same – to children’s creativity, but on a modern technological level. Electronics, smartphones and the Internet for today’s youth it is a familiar environment, like oxygen and food. And Kiev students showed what interesting things can be done by combining modern technology and the inspiration of youth.
The meeting was opened by the Director of the NDI Foundation Olga Krupskaya, who also said that at the end, it turns out, who are best able to write about the Ukrainian science. Because the contest of scientific articles Tech Today Awards ended and it is time to take stock. The verdict handed down five members of the jury, which until recently did not know who would win.
The head of Department on public relations of Vodafone Victoria Ruban said that the idea of the competition came when she was reading the book “Sophia’s World”. It is non-fiction about philosophy and its methods. According to Ruban, she couldn’t stop until I finished the book to end. All because about a complicated subject – philosophy – told interesting and exciting.
Ruban believes that in Ukraine there are also such authors who can easily and clearly tell about science. This was the main motive of the contest Tech Today Awards – give these authors the opportunity to Express themselves. And it is quite possible, because the article was also published not only on the resource Tech Today, but also on other platforms. The competition was held in two nominations: the best interviews with scientists and the best story about the project.

Student of the Lyceum “Student” furriers Victor tries to help the fighters in the ATO. He develops the system of destroying enemy drones, which are often used for correction of artillery fire. The young man has developed a system that shoots a rocket. Latest when approaching the drone reveals and turns into a mesh with a diameter of 7 meters. It covers the screws of the drone, and he falls to the ground.
A graduate of the Lyceum №145 Nico melikidze presented his vision of a bike computer. His device reads the wheel revolutions and calculates the current speed and the traversed path. The resulting data can then view in a special application on the screen of your smartphone.
Electromagnetic suspension EAS
Student of the Kiev national University Nikita Chucky enjoys racing radio-controlled cars. He presented a draft adaptive suspension that improves driving dynamics such models, trying in the corners to keep the car parallel to the road. So the car turns better and is less likely to spread to the roof.
Nikita Zelev of Kyiv Engineering gymnasium introduced the hammock, but the addition of high technology. This furniture allows you to completely relax – swing will be engaged in electronics. A portable system for plant care
Student of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute Michael Barvinko has provided a gadget for growing edible plants at home or at the cottage. The station is Aeroponics, in which there is no soil. Instead, a special mechanism sprays water, creating fog. The roots of the plants hang in the mist and take from it the nutrients.

Who in Ukraine better than anyone talks about science
After the projects of young Ukrainian Olga Krupskaya suggested to learn in our country, who interestingly writes about science. She also noted that the competition had an unexpected success. Initially, the organizers planned that there will be about a dozen articles, but in reality their number was close to fifty.
For the best interview prize iPhone 6S got Anna Sinamic. She spoke with the outstanding Ukrainian mathematician Marina Vyazovskaya, which recently received the “Award of Salem in 2016.”

Meeting Today Tech Hub hosted a festive and interesting, giving a good mood to all present. Doctor of geological-mineralogical Sciences and Deputy chief scientific Secretary of the NAS of Ukraine Vladimir Yemelyanov said that he had greatly improved the mood of the submitted projects. He felt like a dinosaur, but in a good way: how to replace the prehistoric reptiles came nimble mammals and to replace the veterans of science comes to the younger generation. And, according to Yemelyanov, he was pleased that in Ukraine there are young people who are trying to do something interesting. Because it means that the future is.
