CES 2020: pocket SSD SanDisk holds 8 terabytes of data
Western Digital Corporation brought in Las Vegas (NV, USA) at the Consumer Electronics Show 2020 (2020 CES) portable solid state (SSD) drive record capacity.
The novelty is presented under the SanDisk brand in the form of a prototype. Capacity is an impressive 8 TB. This, for example, will be enough to store over 1300 hours of high-definition video format 4K.
To exchange data with a computer using the interface of SuperSpeed USB with a bandwidth of 20 GB/s. This port is used to supply power, so an additional source is not required.
However, we need to emphasize again that while the presented device is just a prototype. And why Western Digital does not mention the timing of receipt of such product. Most likely, this year, this pocket SSD on store shelves does not appear.
