Chinese app-spy threatens 100 million Android-devices
Some unscrupulous developers of mobile applications often abuse the Android, asking for a seemingly simple conditional «Flashlight» most of all possible permissions, including access to data, calls, or, say, IMEI. A new report from research group VPNpro talks about the Chinese company applications QuVideo Inc that require the issuance of «dangerous» permissions.
In particular, the popular free video editor VivaVideo with more than 100 million installations on Google Play, labeled by researchers as «spyware». Interestingly, in 2017, the government of India, along with other 40 applications, called it «malicious». It is also available on iOS devices, however, the situation with permissions inside the OS cupertinos is different and not users are not exposed to the same abuse by the developers.
