How to ventilate a house
Share tips which ventilation system is best and how to maintain optimal humidity and temperature in the house.
Ideally, the ventilation need to take care of when building a house and provide it with ventilation system, which should provide for the timely replacement of the indoor air outside the clean air. The most common system with natural draft venting, which displaces warm room air bole heavy, cool air from the street. To ventilation with a natural impulse to work, you must first organize the supply of fresh air in the room. You can restrict the regular manual winding. However, even just opening a window, you let in the noise. In addition, to keep the Windows open often unsafe. Therefore it is better to organize a constant flow of fresh air through specially developed air inlets embedded in the window. The main drawback of the ventilation system with a natural impulse in its dependence on air temperature, direction and wind speed. Normally this system operates when the Windows below 5°C. But in the summer natural ventilation system does not work, although in this period some of the rooms (kitchens, bathrooms, damp basements) must be intensively ventilated.
In any weather
More reliable year-round ventilation system with mechanical drive air removal. In this system, the supply air enters the house through a window or wall valves. Hood from bathrooms and kitchens is usually done with a powerful exhaust fan. On ventstack put a ventilation grille with adjustable louvers, or exhaust pipes with a turntable and a lid, manually adjustable, or grid with automatic control flow (depending on the humidity of the exhaust air, CO2 content). Also each bathroom and kitchen wall mounted models of fans with check valves that discharges air from these premises only during their use — through holes in the outer walls (useful if the fans will be switched on automatically by a signal from the movement sensor, humidity or air quality). In addition to wall fans in the attic to place a permanent channel, pulling the contaminated air through the roof into the street and while maintaining the minimum allowable air exchange in the living room of the cottage.
