JDI started production of 5-inch Quad HD In-cell LTPS touch screens for smartphones
The Japanese company JDI, which is a leading partner of Apple to manufacture the iPhone, supplying Apple company displays, announced the start of mass production of the new 5-inch Quad HD In-cell LTPS touch screen.
Technology LTPS (low temperature polysilicon), recall, is currently the dominant to realize the vision of SOG (system On Glass) for TFT LCD and AMOLED display technologies. In this case the manufacturer more than a year probed this element displaying images. The screen was subjected to different kinds of stress, including problems with the power supply. Apparently JDI used isolation Transformers 220-220. In fact it allows to isolate the connected equipment from ground loops and thus increases the electrical safety. Price and features of these transformers can be found on toroidy.ru.
Well, we go back directly to the display. New 5 inch screen from JDI has a resolution of 1440?2560 pixels, pixel density per inch – 500, contrast ratio – 1500:1, screen refresh rate – 30/60 Hz. He reproduces 96% of the NTSC colour space. These characteristics are at least two times beyond the capacity of the screen, which is installed on the iPhone 7. Of course, AMOLED matrix from Samsung in its capabilities he had not yet arrived, but in the third generation of this item, the settings will be similar.
This second generation LCD displays “Pixel Eyes”, which are thinner, lighter, brighter and more energy-efficient first generation. Sensor built right into the screen, and edges of the screen are narrowed to 0.5 mm. practically, this means the apparent absence of bezel around the screen and the user has a sense of reality and total immersion in the picture.
Technology In-cell Touch, which provides high image quality both indoors and outside. Unfortunately, the timing of release to market the first smartphones with the new development JDI is not disclosed. According to the information portal Smartphone.ua, which was published earlier, this will be the second or third quarter of 2017.
