Magic Leap are unable to prove that its secrets were stolen by a competitor from China
The Federal district court for the Northern district of California rejected the claim of the manufacturer headsets, augmented reality Magic Leap to her ex-SSC officer of Chi (Chi Xu).
Based Chi Suem in China company Hangzhou Technology Co Tairuo (brand Nreal) demonstrated at CES 2019 mixed-reality headset Nreal Light cost $499, which, according to Magic Leap, «strikingly similar» to Magic Leap device One. New headset Nreal Light should go on sale towards the end of this year.
After receipt of the application Nreal about leaving the claim without consideration, the district court decided that Magic Leap has not led in his claim, the evidence of Xu Chi charges that it used its trade secrets for creating the mixed reality headset. In other words, Magic Leap could not justify properly their charges.
Now Magic Leap is not the best of times. Due to weak sales, the company was forced to begin restructuring, focusing on the corporate market instead of the consumer. At the beginning of the year it was cut about 1,000 employees and is now, reportedly, Magic Leap is looking for people willing to buy its assets.
