Nokia sold 80 million smartphones, but closed last year with losses
Global HMD have revealed some details about the results of their work for the year 2018, while the full report will be published in a few weeks.
According to this report, in the past year, HMD Global has sold 80 million mobile phones and Nokia smartphones all over the world. At the same time in 2017 sales reached 70 million units.
HMD Global reports that the sales volume amounted to 2.4 billion euros and a net loss was at around 189 million euros. Thus, sales increased, but the company has not received profit. As explained by Services Juho (Juho Sarvikas), losses associated with significant investments in production, logistics, research and development.
This year HMD Global records already encouraging numbers, especially in North America. By the end of 2019, the company plans to profit.
Attention is now focused on Nokia conference within the IFA 2019, which will open its doors tomorrow, September 4. In Berlin will be presented with several smartphones and mobile phones, including Nokia expected Nokia 6.2 and 7.2.
