Samsung will put Apple about 80% of displays for smartphones iPhone series 12
Despite the efforts of Apple to diversify the supply of components for its products, Samsung Display is expected, there will still be a major supplier of OLED matrices for smartphones. As reported by DigiTimes, the South Korean technogiant will supply about 80 % of the total volume displays for future iPhone.
Samsung was the exclusive supplier of screens for iPhone X released in 2017, which was the first Apple device with an OLED display. A year later part of the displays was to put LG. As previously reported, this year of the orders on the matrix for the new iPhone will receive the Chinese company BOE, whose screens will be installed in the low-cost model of its forthcoming family of devices. For the first time the entire series of smartphones Apple will get OLED-panel.
The displays manufactured by LG and BOE are expected to apply in a 5.4 – and affordable 6.1-inch models of the iPhone 12. According to reports, the new series will include four mobile, including two with 6.1-inch screens, one with a display diagonal of 5.4 inches, and the most “advanced” model with a 6.7-inch display.
